What happens to plants if i water them with tea?

Posted by admin | Posted in Plants | Posted on 22-02-2010

I’m doing this expirement about plants.

I’m supposed to compare two plants being watered differently.

I have to water this plant with tea for at least two weeks. What’s going to happen to it?

I’d like to know because the plant isn’t dying, its just its affecting its growth a little bit. What’s going to the happen to plant by two weeks?

Thanks, i just want to be accurate and making sure.

If it’s a experiment, isn’t that the idea to watch and see what will take place, not ask and know before hand? Just wanted to ask you that ?
Would like to know the results, seeing how I have over 20 plants, some trees in my home.
We do live in a want to know now world, it takes some of the fun out of sit back and watch things work with the universe.

The flower bed is just filled up with dirt, weeds, and pebbles. First I need to clean it out I guess but do I use the dirt that’s already in there or do put soil down? If you want to know, I live in Southern Arizona where it’s always dry and hot and I want to plant perennial flowers. I’m new to gardening and want to know how prepare the flower bed, what type of soil I need (if necessary) and any tips on types of flowers to plant. Thanks alot!

Yes clean the bed and decide on the look you are going for. You can actually get quite a lush look from native plants in your area. You are also Lucky enough to live where you can have great plants such as phormium and succulents galore.

Secondly if you want to use some things that would require more water, add an irrigation system and, a good soil mix (soil, compost, and organics). You can also just add this is pockets as well. Add textures with ornaments as well as different types of stone.

Grasses can provide movement and softness.

Evergreen can provide statue like presence as well as privacy, and formality.

Succulents can provide architectural elements.

xeric perennials can add color for years to come.

annual materials can add splashes of color that that transform the mood of the garden with each season.

Herbs, most require less water and fertilization, they also add refreshing scents and flavors to your space and cooking.

This site has a great plant list

What plants do you suggest for a 1 month plant experiment?

I’m doing an experiment on plant growth at school. I need the experiment results within a month or so, and I’m trying to find a plant that is small and can grow quickly. Do you have any ideas for plants that can grow fairly quickly, but is easy to take care of and is fairly small?

Beans are the best. Soak some seeds in wet cotton wool and water regularly. If you can’t find bean seeds then go for Mung beans.

Should I wait for flower gardening or can I start now?

I live in TN. So, far we have had about 2 weeks of warm weather (60s & 70s) before spring even set in. Last year, our winter ended right around this time also unlike past decade where cold weather ( < 60F) would last through April. So, should I wait a little longer or can I go ahead and start my flower gardening now?

Rather than relying on daytime high temperatures, you should check out nighttime lows to see if there has been frost recently, and if you expect frost to continue.

Meanwhile, you can prepare the soil, by putting a fresh layer of topsoil on it, and raking it in to the existing soil. If you believe in fertilizer, you could mix that in, too.

Some flowers are very hardy in cold weather, pansies, for example.
